5 Beauty Products Under $25 To Speed Up Your Morning Beauty Routine And Have You Leaving The House Polished To Perfection

tumblr_naub6kJwuT1ssvhsxo1_500I kind of hated winter this year. Waking up in the wee hours of the morning then running to the shower before my toes turned into icy polls wasn’t exactly fun.

What’s even less fun? Having to get out of the shower. I had to literally start a countdown in my head and force myself to turn off the taps once I get to 10.

By the time I wasted twenty minutes forcing myself to get out of bed, and spent another twenty playing my little countdown game – I left myself with a mere ten minutes to slap on some makeup and do my hair before I had to leave the house.

So, here are five products I’ve been using to help speed up my beautifying routine so that I’m on the road in a jiffy, chugging back a travel mug full of instant-poison-tasting-coffee while wishing the city traffic would just disappear.

1. TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)done Shampoo & Conditioner

What it is? Shampoo and Conditioner

Why it’s quick: TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)done Shampoo & Conditioner is fantastic at detangling and smoothing the cuticles of your hair thanks to its creamy formulation that’s silicon free. The speediest part of the process is when you hop out of the shower and it only takes a few seconds to comb out any kinks. This range was created to promote natural waves, so you can quickly blast your hair under a hairdryer and you’re good to go. No need for your humble ghd here!

Why I love it: The shampoo and conditioner contains sea kelp to create texture and body in the hair. I found that it made my strands glossy and easy to manage but also large and voluminous from the roots.

How much it will cost you: $10.99 each for a 750ml bottle.

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo Neon Lights

What is it? Dry Shampoo

Why it’s quick: This one is pretty self explanatory – especially if you’ve already used/loved dry shampoo before. If you haven’t, and this sounds like fresh beauty news to you, this product works like an ultra-absorbing hair spray. When sprayed onto oily-dirty hair, it will not only remove an sight of greasiness, it will also help volumise hair and pretty much make you look like a goddess in an instant.

Batiste Dry Shampoo is a firm favourite of mine, purely because it was the first brand of dry shampoo I ever used and it has never let me down. I also love how readily available it is everywhere and at such an affordable price.

Why I love it: I’ve been loving Batiste’s Neon Lights Dry Shampoo because it smells like pomegranate and jasmine! Yum!

How much it will cost you: Only $9.95

3. The Balm Balms Away Eye Makeup Remover

What it is? An Eye Makeup Remover

Why it’s quick: The smallest quantity of this balm (that visually looks like petroleum jelly) can remove the most stubborn makeup in seconds. It’s a real time saver in the morning if I need to quickly take care of panda eyes that weren’t properly dealt with the night before (this can easily happen if you don’t use a proper makeup remove  the night before).

Why I love it: What’s not to love about The Balm’s Balms Away Eye Makeup Remover? It comes in a seriously cute vintage-look tin that’ll probably last a lifetime. It’s been ergonomically designed so you only have to push down on the ‘press presser’ for the lid to open for you. It contains vitamins A,C,E and plant derived lipids (Lipids: constitute a group of naturally occurring molecules that include fats, waxes, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins) and the packaging text it more witty then Amy Schumer.

How much it will cost you: $24.95 (This one just makes the under $25 range – but believe me – I’ve had my tin for 3 years! It lasts so long!)

4. Australis Matte Out Mattifying Face Base Stick

What is it? Primer

Why it’s quick: Primer is a fantastic makeup must-have for many reasons. A) it fills in pores and fine lines b) it makes your makeup stay in place for longer c) it stops future breakouts by filling your pores with nutrients (in this case wild azalea extract) instead of allowing foundations nasties to sink into the layers of your skin and d) It helps makeup slide on super-duper fast because it creates a silky finish.

Why I love it: Australis’ Matte Out Mattifying Face Base is easy to apply by drawing a few simple lines all over your face and rubbing in with your fingers to melt the product into your skin. There is no offensive smell, it doesn’t feel too cakey or heavy, it’s handbag friendly so you can take it with you for touch ups during the day and your face will never ever look oily thanks to this sticks ability to mattify your face. Good heavens – this is a good product!

How much will it cost you: $14.95

6.  Maybelline Masterliner Cream Pencil Liner

What it is: Crayon Eyeliner

Why it’s quick: The creamy consistency of this eyeliner means you can draw a sleek, neat line across your eyelashes in a heartbeat without any mess or tugging of your delicate skin around your eyes. I love a winged-eye just as much as I love a slightly smudged out eye, and with this crayon I can do both within a millisecond.

Why I love it: The creamy formulation of Maybelline’s Masterliner Cream Pencil is long-wear, oil-free, made from nylon and waxes (meaning easy glide) and waterproof making it great for those days when you need to work throughout the day and head to an event straight after work.

How much it will cost you: $12.50.

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Have you got any of the above products in your beauty kit? Will you spend some spare cash on any of the above I have listed?
