8 Ways To Fake A Fresh Face On Monday Morning After A Boozy Weekend

If you’re reading this I’m guessing you’ve had a big weekend.

Never fear, you can turn up to work tomorrow with some swagger in your step and a gleam on your cheeks with these 8 trusty beauty tips that will erase any evidence that you’ve had too much fun.

These tricks will also see you through sick days, sleepless nights, breakups and will perk up your appearance after one of those boozy date nights.

Thank me later beauty cadets!

1. Go for a sheer foundation

L'oreal Paris cc cream

Say no to matte foundations and powder. Heavy cakey makeup will only make your puffy skin seem more tired and powder will accentuate fine lines and wrinkles. Something light and dewy will be more forgiving on tired skin. Opt for a tinted moisturiser or CC cream as these will make your look glowy as well as disguise uneven skin tone.

2. Wear white eyeliner

Why? Because it opens up sleepless-eyes and makes the whites appear even more clear. Trace a white eyeliner on the bottom waterline and top tightline. To open up your eyes even further, apply a natural looking beige illuminator on the inner corners of the eyes and blend in.

3. Choose a light-reflecting lipgloss

For lips, avoid matte lipsticks or anything drying. Long-wear lipsticks are definitely a no-no as they can make lips flaky and sore. Opt for a light-reflective lipgloss or balm instead. By doing so you’ll lock in moisture, create the illusion of larger plump smooches, and detract from dark under eye bags or any other skin concern.

4. Smear on some illuminator

The more glowy the skin the better. Apply a liquid illuminator to the ridge of the nose, the cheek bones, cupids bow of your lips and under your eyebrows. Your face will stop looking drawn out and more like you’ve been sipping on cold pressed juices all weekend!

5. Whiten your teeth in a flash

This one is easy. The whiter the teeth, the more healthy you look. Pearly whites also distract people from beauty faux pas’ like tired eyes and dull skin. Buy a box of whitening stripes that you can wear while you do your hair and makeup in the morning. By the time you’re done, your teeth will be white and ready to go!

6. Freshen your peepers with eye drops

Dry eyes? It’s probably from all those cocktails you have downed! Rather drying aren’t they? A few drops and your eyes will look glistening, vibrant and young.

7. Scoop your hair up into a high ponytail

Grab a hair brush, revitalising serum, and hair spray. Comb your strands up into a high pony and secure. Ponytails not only look young and perky, but your neck will get a well deserved airing from having hot hair weighing you down. This brushed-back do also acts as an instant face lift by stretching aged skin and tightening under your neck.

Sarah What recommends: Muk Spa Argan Oil Shine Spray, $31.95

8. Spritz on some face mist

You really can’t get a more refreshing treat! Your skin will thank you for the extra moisture and you will look dewier than ever before. Face mist also helps to set your makeup before you head to work to keep it in place all day.
