Friday Shelfie #1
It’s Friday Shelfie time!
To start with, I better explain what this weekly post will be all about. Basically, I accumulate a lot of beauty products. Because I’m regularly trying out new skincare, haircare and makeup pieces weekly, they often end up in my bathroom vanity before being replaced with a whole new bunch of fun things – meaning sometimes you miss out on what’s being slapped on my face when there’s such a fast turn around. What a travesty!
I thought it would be good to take a snap shot, a ‘shelfie’ if you will, of the newest beauty finds I have each week and write a quick little blurb on why I have enjoyed each product as well as how much they cost and where you can pick them up yourself.
Without further ado, here’s my first ever Friday Shelfie!
Arcona Refresh Triad Pads
The first product I want to talk about is Arcona’s Triad Pads for refreshing the face. These wonderful exfoliating cotton disks are soaked in Arcona’s famous Cranberry Toner. Each disc has the ability to clean out my pores and leave my skin looking dewy and fresh like nothing else.
After coming out of the shower with freshly cleansed skin, I’ll take one of these discs and rub it in circular motions all over my face. I don’t do this every day, perhaps 3 nights out of every week.
After ten seconds you can hear a quiet crackling sound as the potent ingredients (think antimicrobial cranberry, omega 3, 6 and 9 and organic rice milk) get to work to clean out stubborn dirt from clogged pores. I really love this part.
It’s so amazing to see the amount of dirt taken off my face with one of these discs even after I’ve cleansed my face in the shower. This is a true 10/10 product in my eyes!

Abeeco’s Natural Brightening & Hydrating Toner
I’ve been enjoying the cooling and soothing sensation of this New Zealand made toner every time I swipe it over my face thanks to key ingredients like manuka honey, neroli water and cucumber extract.
This toner won’t just soothe irritated and sore skin, but it will infuse your pores with vitamins A, E, F, H and B – wow! All of these vitamins will help to protect, regenerate and repair your skin.
This toner acts as a really great primer to your moisturiser as it allows your skin to stay moist and take in any other products you layer on afterwards.
Dove Original 48hr Roll On Deodorant
This is the longest standing staple in my bathroom vanity. I honestly don’t think I’ve switched deodorants in two years purely because how trusty this little roll-on is.
There’s a few reasons why I’ve stayed loyal to this bad boy:
- Convenient travel size
- No overpowering smell (won’t compete with my perfume of choice)
- Lasts 48 hrs – no smelly hours of the day
- It’s a roll on – better for sensitive skin in my opinion
- It’s highly moisturising and has vitamins E & F for my sensitive under arms.
Need I go on? I think not!

Christophe Robin Wheat Germ Mask For Colored Treated Hair
I LOVE this hair mask by French haircare expert Christophe Robin. I first picked up a tub of this hair elixir when I was shopping on the Champs-Élysées last year. I had balayage dyed hair at the time (it was European summer – a must!) and I needed something to rescue my strands.
This pot of heaven has been very well loved ever since and whenever I feel like my ends are drying out I pop this mask onto damp hair for 30+ minutes to breathe in some new life.
The smell is very florally and pretty, and the texture is thick meaning it will feed your strands and stay in place (and not drip onto the floor!).
The key ingredients that make this mask work so well is wheat germ oil, honey extract and provitamin B5.
Dr. Lewinn’s Private Formula Line Smoothing Complex S8 Eye Recovery Complex
I think the best way to keep your eyes looking young is to be proactive and apply a hydrating anti-ageing eye cream morning and night.
I’ve been enjoying this thick and buttery eye cream as it contains SNAP-8 (a peptide that mimics botox stoping fine lines forming by disabling movement in a very subtle way) and Coenzyme Q10 (a powerful antioxidant that helps to repair skin cells) both of which help to smooth and refine the area around the eye – bye bye crows feet!
I like to tap this product in for about thirty seconds to give the area some blood flow and see results fast.
Arcona Purify Tea Tree Mask (AM – PM)
Another Arcona product (honestly, if you can get your hands on any Arcona skincare products you should make the investment – they really are second to none!). This creamy minty face mask is so uplifting and can draw out any impurities from dirty pores while smelling like the insides of an aero chocolate bar all at once. *Cue Whitney Houston’s Hero*.
With the addition of antibacterial tea tree extract, any large pores will look smaller and blemishes will be dried out. Sulphur and grapefruit extract also help to reduce future breakouts when you’re hormonal and mint balm, allantoin and lavender will reduce any inflammation and restore skin.
I apply this mask once a week and love how smooth and fresh my face looks afterwards.

I hope you guys enjoyed this Friday Shelfie! I’ll pop another one up next week after I’ve trialled a few more new beauty goodies.
