Can You Handle The Heat? 3 Ways To Stop Frizzy Hair Ruining Your Day This Summer
Summer can play havoc on our hair. Not only do our strands get oilier quicker, but we have to tackle colour-fade from harsh UVA & UVB rays as well as an impossible amount of frizz around our hairline from humidity.
Today I will be tackling how to stop frizz from ruining your day.
Yes, it’s a first world problem, but just how a good hair day can make you feel a million bucks, a bad hair day caused by springy frizz can make you irritable and feel all kinds of meh.
I’ve got 3 tips that are easy to incorporate into your summer hair routine that will cut the chance of frizzy hair in half.

1. Dry your hair with a t-shirt instead of a traditional towel
Okay, so this may sound crazy but give it a go!
Drying your hair with a soft cotton t-shirt (buy an inexpensive tee or even use something you already have in your drawer that you haven’t worn in a while) reduces the chances of frizzy hair because you aren’t roughing up, creating friction or breaking the hair follicle with a traditional terry towel.
A cotton t-shirt is still able to absorb excess moisture but it will leave your hair slick, shiny and not frizzy at all.
Simply wrap your hair turban-style in your shirt and leave for 5-10 minutes for excess moisture to dry out. Your strands will be much more well-behaved once your hair is completely dry. This is an absolute life-saver for curly-haired girls in summer.
2. Use a hydrating hair mask once a week
Frizz is caused by dehydrated hair. The more moisture that is injected into your strands, the less likely you will look like a frizz-ball.
For this reason, make sure you’re giving your hair some TLC over summer with a leave-in hydrating hair mask once a week.

3. Let your hair dry 90% before blow-drying
Hot hair styling tools are never good for hair health.
Yes, they make us look polished and pretty, but too much heat (especially hot air focused directly on your strands from a hair dryer) can really dehydrate your mane, making it look frizzy and distressed.
To reduce the chance of frizzy hair after you’ve painstakingly blow-dried it, always let your locks air dry 90% of the way before styling with a hairdryer or any other heat styling tool.
Even though this tip means waiting around for your hair to dry, your sleek strands will more than make up for it.
