Trialled & Tested: Premium Spa Skincare Range
Why hello there lovely ladies!
It’s seriously nice to recline back right now and enjoy my super soft skin…
Who, me? Boasting? How dare you! If it wasn’t for my nightly Premium Spa indulgences I wouldn’t be sitting back here, smitten like a kitten.
You see, exactly three weeks ago I was sent pretty much the entire new line for the brands relaunch. Not only was there all the golden oldies which we have fallen in love with in the past (like the heavenly smelling, award winning, in-shower scrubs) but also a few newies that I couldn’t wait to get my mitts on and enjoy. Along with the new formulas came new packaging as well, and I’m a sucker for anything that looks as good as it feels.
Premium Spa, in a nut shell, is loved by many beauty babes because it’s Australian made, contains no icky things like parabens, detergents, artificial colours, synthetic filters or polybeads. It’s not tested on animals, it’s certified organic, it’s completely affordable and readily available from Priceline and Big W. Best of all though, it actually does make your skin feel amazing. No false promises here ladies!
Below I have divided my experience into two categories, In Shower and Post Shower, just to make it super obvious how to use these lovely products.
SOS Foot Scrub – Lavander, Pumice & Peppermint
This is a fantastic foot scrub for those wanting something abrasive. You want to feel as though hard heels and dry feet are being sloughed away to baby soft smoothness after all! The pumice acts as the exfoliant while the lavender and peppermint not only smell nice, but sooth skin, $9.99.
Very, very refreshing! This body wash lives up to its name, it will make you feel like you’ve checked in to a luxe day spa on a tropical island thanks to key ingredients like tangerine, lime zest, calendura and aloe vera. I found that it foamed up really nicely but didn’t leave my skin dried out after emerging from the shower. I put this down to the fact that it doesn’t contain any harsh detergents, $9.99.
Body Wash – Frangipani & Coconut
Like it’s cousin above (well, they ARE both body washes!) this will leave your skin smelling incredible and refreshed, never dried out. Frangipani and coconut make this body wash particularly more feminine. It just smells too good to be true, $9.99.
SOS Wonder Scrub – Wattle Seed, Walnut & Rice Bran
This scrub comes in an easy to use, rectangular tube with a click-top lid. It’s formula is very buttery, thanks to rice bran as one of the main ingredients. Crushed wattle seed (how very Australian) and walnuts give this scrub extra grit. I used this every second night on the back of my legs to increase blood flow, remove toxins and help remove stubborn post-Christmas cellulite, $14.95.
Sugar Body Scrub – Frangipani & Coconut
I’ve loved using this soft and creamy sugar scrub. The main difference from the below scrub is that 1) it’s main ingredient is sugar, and 2) it’s far less abrasive then salt, making it a great alternative for anyone who has more sensitive skin, or for areas of the body that need more care, like your chest and nape of the neck, $14.99.
Salt Body Scrub – Lemon Butter
For those who like tough love, this wonderfully thick, oil rich salt scrub will become your go-to. I’ve been using it once a week for a thorough once over. It’s really helped to renew my skin and give me an all-over sheen. The zesty lemon smell is a winner as well, $14.99.
SOS Moisture Balm – frangipani & Coconut
Laden with essential oils and natural fruit extracts, this body moisturiser is like a fresh tropical smoothie for your skin, your pores will slurp it up! This thick and nourishing moisture balm is the perfect follow up to any of the above body washes or scrubs. Because you’ve removed your skins natural oils in the shower, you need to restore hydration – this is the easiest way, $9.99.
Ultra Firming Body Balm – Shea Butter, Jojoba & Goji Berry
I mentioned above that my skin is prone to lumps and bumps due to pore blood flow, a minor cellulite stint (everyone’s been there!) and dryness (forgetting to dry body brush or exfoliate), so this firming body balm truly is an angel, sent down from heaven, in the form of a handy squeezey tube. The formula is lightweight and non-greasy. The hero ingredient is goji berries, which help to restore the skins elasticity and reduce the effect of oxygen free radicles which have gone haywire, $9.99.
SOS Hand Cream – Ginger & Orange
Lightweight and with a pretty scent due to a clever little blend of ginger and orange, this uplifting hand cream is a great option if you want to pamper sore and tired hands. It will restore hydration in a jiffy, $6.99.
Body Butter – Coconut & Vanilla
An oldie but a goldie! This tub of coconutty, vanilla bean spiked body butter is a staple within Premium Spa’s updated range. Super thick, like a tub of your favourite full fat yogurt, one more scoop of this body butter is never enough! Mark my words, you will go through one of these a month, $9.99.
SOS Foot Balm – Rosemary, Cocoa Butter & Citrus Mint
To perfectly round out this genuinely fabulous range, Premium Spa’s SOS Foot Balm is really, really, really good at soothing sore feet. Nothing will make tired toes and heels from hell feel better then this cooling rosemary, mint and aloe fermented balm. My personal tip? Use this after you give your feet a good scrub in the shower. Next, put on a pair of wooly socks to sleep in over night. When you wake up and fling your socksies on the ground you will be marvelled at how ultra smooth your feet are. It’s enough to make you want to celebrate by showing them off in a new pair of Jimmy Choo’s, $9.99.
Have you tried Premium Spa before, what did you think? If not, has this selection tempted you?
