Makeup Tutorial: 8 Crucial Steps To Achieve Adele’s Cat Eyes & Long Lashes From Music Video ‘Hello’
English Rose Skin
Adele has stunning porcelain skin – the epitome of an English Rose.
To achieve her semi-matte skin use Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish Foundation. I find that it covers over blemishes well and gives the skin a satin-like finish. At under $20 it’s also a steal.

Contour Those Cheekbones
Adele doesn’t shy away from a sculpted face. The easiest way by far to contour your cheekbones, thin your nose, add some definition to your neck or lower your forehead is to use a contouring cream crayon.
I like Tarte’s The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer in Park Ave Princess. Simply draw a line just below your earlobe to mid way across your cheek on a diagonal angle sloping downwards.
With a blending brush carefully blend the pigment in with light circular motions until you achieve the depth of shadow you are after.
You can do this on any area of your face including your nose, neck or forehead. I can tell that Adele has definitely chiseled her cheeks though!

Peach Eyeshadow For Cut-Crease
Next up, Adele has a super delicate peachy-terracotta smokey eye happening. To be precise, she’s rocking a peach cut-crease across your eyelid helping to create the elusion of depth and drama.
To achieve this look take Kat Von D’s super popular Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette and use the last panel of colours on the right hand side (you will see the peach and burgundy tones). With a small fluffy eye brush concentrate the apricot shade into the crease of your eyelid and push the pigment across that line in a ‘windscreen wiper’ motion until you have properly buffed in the shade and it’s blended to perfection. It should look like a delicate apricot haze across the crease of your eyelid.
For more depth place a small amount of the darker burgundy shade into the crease (a teeny tiny amount) and also blend that into the peach tone deepening the cut-crease.

Long Fluttery Lashes
Next up, I recommend attaching your gorgeous long and fluttery eyelashes. Adele has worn very long glamorous eyelashes in her video clip for Hello. It’s important to note that the lashes are all one length, have a slight curl and are thick. They are not spiky at all and definitely don’t fall into the ‘subtle’ or ‘natural’ category. They are very 60’s mod!
For this reason the perfect lashes to wear are Ardell’s Glamour Lashes. They will frame your eyes with plenty of drama. For this look I also recommend using Ardell’s Dark Adhesive Glue as it sets dark and makes applying your black winged liner on top a breeze.
Black Winged Liner
Now that your eyelashes are secure take Tarte’s Clay Paint Liner. Don’t be deterred by the name – this ‘liquid’ eyeliner is thicker in nature making it easier to apply in a neat line as it isn’t runny but sets hard just like any other liquid eyeliner. It’s also super pigmented and black – perfect for Adele’s famous bold cat eye flick.
Tarte’s Clay Paint Liner also comes with a cute tapered applicator brush to help you line your lashes perfectly.
For this particular cat eye start thin at the inner corners of your eyes and thicken up your wing towards the end.

Define Your Lower Lashes
You can’t leave your bottom eyelashes bare for this look. Adele has very delicately ran a black eyeliner under her lower lashes and blended the pigment into her lashes for a defined look.
She’s also coated her lashes with one coat of black mascara to elongate them. You can really use any black eyeliner or mascara for this. I’d probably go with Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Perversion (it’s very black) and MAC’s Haute & Naughty Mascara using the lengthening wand.

Adele always has impeccable brows that are always defined. Because I have dark hair, I used my trusty Bobbi Brown Brow Kit using the more warmer toned Mahogany shade.
If you have strawberry blonde hair like Adele I recommend finding a brow shade that properly matches your hair colouring. Nothing worse than black brows on a blonde/red haired woman. I recommend the amazing Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Blonde.
Make sure to define and concentrate the colour towards the tail end of your brow and try brush up and leave the head of your brows as natural as possible for a more flattering finish.

Nude Velvety Lips
Lastly, Adele’s lips look so full and velvety in Hello.
I recommend taking Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Mystic and Whisper. Line your lips with Mystic to give some depth and lift (this is a great way to faking larger lips) and also colour in the corners of your pout. This will also give the impression of fuller lips.
Next take Whisper (a blush/mauve shade) and fill in the empty middle section of your lips before blotting together to blend the two shades. Hello Adele’s lips! Big and beautiful!
