How To: Care For Your Pricey Swimwear Properly Over Summer
You’ve just forked out for an expensive bikini that you’ve been coveting for months. Here’s how to care for it properly so that it stays as bright and tight (no loose elastic here!) for many summers to come.
1. Rinse your swimsuit with cold water after each use and leave it to dry in a shady area. Hand wash your swimsuit regularly with a gentle detergent.
2. There’s no need to hang swimwear for storage purposes. Fold any swimwear and keep them in a drawer similar to your lingerie – somewhere cool and dry.

3. For coloured swimwear, avoid excess exposure to the elements (sand, salt and chlorine) and make sure to avoid creams and tanning oils which might stain the fabric.
In general, swimwear requires greater care than your normal wardrobe. This is because it’s exposed to harsh elements. However, a good swimsuit can be an investment piece that will last years if you treat it correctly.
No more tearing them off and leaving them to dry in a chlorine puddle after you take a dip!
